Debate on ‘Demonitisation’: The BBA students at the Mumbai Campus weigh in

EVENT BRIEF: It was a memorable day at S P Jain’s Mumbai campus on 23rd November, as a debate competition was held among the BBA class of 2016. The theme of the debate was “Demonetisation”, a very trending topic in today’s economy. The student participation was commendable. It kick-started with an introduction, which was followed by the first speaker who spoke for the topic. The first team spoke about various points in favor of demonitisation and concluded by saying how “Corruption will not end but will reduce”.

This November 16, Thursday, the Global learning Team organised a surprise activity for the BBA students. Fellow staff members and members of the faculty joined the activity too.

Mumbai Jags visit Mahindra and Mahindra’s Kandivali plant

After visiting the thyssenKrupp plant in Pune a few weeks back, the Mumbai Jags, on the 9th of November, witnessed the workings of another plant on the other end of the manufacturing spectrum – the Mahindra and Mahindra plant. Here, they got to see a mass production plant in action.

Students and Faculty Come Together for Luxury Management Program’s Fresher’s Day Party

On the 8th of November, 2016, the first ever batch of S P Jain’s Master’s in Luxury Management came together along with the faculty to make their fresher’s day memorable. Games, foot tapping music, delicious food, and a foosball table made the fresher’s ice breaker event a warm welcome. The involvement and passion exhibited by everyone on campus was also very inspiring for the students.

Mr. Rahil Nadiadwala addresses S P Jain’s Mumbai cohorts

We cross paths with numerous people every day and we often realize how every face has a different story to tell. On 8th November 2016, S P Jain provided the cohort of Mumbai with the opportunity to understand the life of Rahil Nadiadwala, a simple man whose struggles have made him the Assistant Director that every major Film production company in Bollywood wants. Mr. Rahil started the lecture off by ensuring that the students would look at the upcoming 2 hours as an informal discussion.

Orientation Day for the Opening batch of Luxury Management in Mumbai

On the 17th of October 2016, S P Jain embarked on a new milestone with the start of its first batch of Masters in Global Luxury Goods and Services Management in collaboration with MIP- Politecnico Di Milano Graduate School of Business, at S P Jain’s Mumbai Campus.

An academic tie between the two prestigious business schools was made, based on the shared belief that tomorrow’s market leaders in luxury management must have a global reach and knowledge. As an emerging market, India has become the prime destination for luxury brands, which is the key driver behind this course.

The student orientation program was held to acquaint the students with the academic aspects as well as what is expected of them in the light of the curriculum. Attended by both students and parents, the ceremony was hosted by Miss Soumya Shetty, and it began with the traditional Indian ceremony of lighting of the lamp by the course directors - Dr. Radhika Narayanan, S.P. Jain and Dr. Alessandro Brun, MIP and two student body representatives.

BBA Jags spend a day gaming at SMAASH

S P Jain School of Global of Management organized a fun activity for its students on the 14th of November 2016, which happened to be the Children's day. The activity was fun filled, exciting, adventurous, and really amazing. The students were first informed about the rules and regulations of the place (Smaash). After that, the students split themselves into two different groups, some dispersing into the Cricket field while others leaving for the Bowling Centre.

Playing golf is a good networking opportunity in today’s business environment. Hence, the Global Learning team, on 3rd November 2016, organised a golf session for our MBA students to give them a feel of what the game is all about.
