ADMISSIONS OPEN FOR October 2020 INTAKE

A step-by-step guide

Admissions Process

STEP 1

ELIGIBILITY

  • Students must have completed high school/secondary school/junior college or some equivalent form of secondary education 
  • Students are shortlisted on the basis of their Year 10 or most recent Board exam (taken in the past 2 years) and SP Jain Entrance Test (SPJET), SAT, ACT or Joint Entrance Exam (Main) [JEE (Main)] score

DOMESTIC APPLICANTS (AUSTRALIAN)

  • NSW Higher School Certificate or its interstate equivalent: minimum ATAR of 70
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma score of 24 or
  • Completion of an international qualification where the content, level and intended outcomes are deemed to be equivalent to any of the above through official qualification recognition register or mapping of equivalence by the School.
  • Completion of an approved course at the level of Diploma or Associate Diploma completed at a TAFE or registered training organistation (RTO)
  • Possession of qualifications deemed equivalent to either of the above three points

INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS

  • All India Senior School Certification Examination (CBSE) or India School Certificate (ISC) Year 12 exam with minimum 60% or Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) from the Indian State Boards minimum 70%
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma score of 24 or
  • Completion of an international qualification where the content, level and intended outcomes are deemed to be equivalent to any of the above through official qualification recognition register or mapping of equivalence by the School.
  • A Levels

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • All applicants must have completed their education as detailed above in English and must provide certified evidence to the School.
  • Applicants who have not completed their most recent education qualifications in English are required to take any of the following recognised formal English language test and obtain currently valid minimum scores as below:

    • IELTS score of 6
    • TOEFL iBT score of 60 overall
    • PTE score of 50

STEP 2

APPLICATION

  • Submit your application online (no application fee)
  • A student must submit only one application. Duplication of applications may lead to a student's form/admission being disqualified.
  • It is not necessary to have Year 12 results in hand at the time of application. In case the Year 12 results are not in hand, selected students will be offered conditional admission to the program.

STEP 3

ENTRANCE TEST

  • Students need to take one of the following entrance tests and the minimum entrance test score required is specified below:
    • SAT (SAT College Code - 7579)
    • ACT (ACT College Code - 1473)
    • SPJET
    • Joint Entrance Exam (Main) [JEE (Main)]: JEE (Main) are standardised examinations administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in India

  • In addition, students must achieve 75% in Numeracy section of the SPJET or 600 in the Math section of the SAT or may be required to take the Math test developed and administered by SP Jain to assess their numeracy skills. For applicants with Indian certifications, this requirement will be waived if the applicant has scored 75% or more in recognised Indian State Board Exam or Central Board exams (e.g. ICSE / CBSE).
  • It is rare for SP Jain to admit students with lower scores, but we do consider all factors including academic performance and extracurricular achievements.
  • Shortlisted students are required to pay an SPJET fee of USD 45 before requesting for an SPJET date.

STEP 4

EVALUATION & INTERVIEW

  • Applicants are required to satisfactorily complete a personal interview with the admissions team. The admissions team shortlists applications based on past academic performance, entrance test scores, English language proficiency, subject knowledge, analytical skills, and other achievements. If your application has been shortlisted, you will be called in for further evaluation.
  • Shortlisted applicants are required to pay an evaluation fee of USD 55 before requesting an evaluation date.

STEP 5

ADMISSION

You will be emailed an admission decision approximately a week after the evaluation.
