CAREER ACCELERATION AND ADAPTION
To get to the next stage of your career – whether it is to get promoted to the top, start your own business or explore opportunities outside your organisation – you will need the management expertise, global exposure and professional connections that a world-class MBA will help you foster. The SP Jain Executive MBA (EMBA) is designed to help you expand your managerial and leadership skillset, develop the tools to spot and seize challenging opportunities, and position yourself as the empowered leader your organisation needs today.
The 18-month part-time MBA program is currently delivered virtually using our cutting-edge Engaged Learning Online (ELO) technology that offers you an immersive classroom-like experience at your doorstep.
The program curriculum covers core concepts of general management, addressing business functions such as economics, accounting, innovation and strategy, and specialist courses offering in-depth coverage and insights in different industry tracks. The course also lays emphasis on strategic thinking, critical analysis, global intelligence, problem-solving and decision-making, resulting in the development of highly specialised skills and competencies. Rigorous coursework along with the practical emphasis of the program allows students to define problems, identify solutions and make an immediate impact at work.
Note: The program is not accredited or approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) or any regulatory body in India.
After much extensive research which included gathering data from corporates and alumni, we believe we have developed a truly world-class program which is at the leading edge of applied practice and theory. Some of the many new courses include Leadership and Cross-Cultural Management, and Corporate Governance and Ethics. New electives such as New Ventures, and Mergers and Acquisitions are being offered. Furthermore, a new specialisation is being offered in Entrepreneurship. In addition, ECAP (Executive Career Acceleration Program) has been integrated into the core curriculum, emphasising the strategic importance of all students enhancing their soft skills in order to become effective managers and leaders.
Just before I joined SP Jain’s EMBA (delivered online via ELO), I was very close to signing up for a full-time on-campus program. But that involved a lot of changes. I had to put my career on hold. So, I decided to explore an online program. This is one of the best decisions I have taken for my education. It’s given me the flexibility to continue working. I didn’t have to move houses or move to a different state.
When you’re in class, you’re in front of all your batch mates. You can see everybody right there. It doesn’t feel like you’re away. You can ask and answer questions on the fly. The favourite part so far has been the administrative setup. The team is doing a fabulous job. Any request we ask for is immediately dealt with. It’s great that SP Jain has this kind of an engaging online format.
Between juggling a career of being a project manager and the role of a mother, an online MBA helps me balance the two worlds. The ELO technology has been wonderful. We're sitting in the comfort of our house with our family and, at the same time, we're engaging with the class and the professors; so, there’s that one-to-one feeling. It's a virtual class environment where you don't feel lost. There's a lot of cold calling. It's two-way communication.
Attending classes on campus would have been difficult for me as I travel extensively around the world for my work. Today’s digital world helps you connect from anywhere and learn. That’s why I preferred SP Jain’s online program over a conventional classroom program. No matter where I am travelling to, I have that flexibility and connect with my class. I never felt that I’m missing the class; I’m already in class! My first ELO experience was at Singapore airport. I attended the first lecture of my course from Ecuador. When I was in the Pacific Islands for almost three weeks, I attended two complete modules.
Speaking about diversity, I’m getting the opportunity to be in the same class as someone who has 25 years of experience! We have students from marketing, sales and teaching; someone is an entrepreneur; one of our classmates is a chef – everyone is bringing in their own experiences and this helps us learn better.
The Data Quality ABR has contributed greatly towards the data quality initiative at my organisation. I was nominated as a part of the Global Data Quality Council and received recognition from the senior management on various occasions. This research project helped in broader stakeholder management involving senior leadership, proficiency in research and analysis, design of the product vision in alignment with the company’s mission and product lifecycle management as part of my product management career strategy.
After working for over 6 years in software development, I moved to a senior product marketing manager role in the consumer goods sector. I wanted to leverage my technical skills and couple it with my marketing skills to grasp a 360-degree understanding of the customer buying journey.
SP Jain's EMBA (on-campus) has helped me in this transition. The program is designed to help students bridge the gap in their skill sets and take a leap in their careers. The School’s world-class faculty provides impeccable education and the diverse cohort enhances the learning experience every day. The program’s application-based learning model has developed my negotiation, entrepreneurial, time management and leadership skills, and enhanced the quality, quantity and speed of my decision-making skills.
Studying Operations Research has been extremely beneficial to expand my skills. Every single technique I learnt in the program is being applied at my workplace. A simple example would be the use of Program Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) to quote timelines and project completion. I also get to interact with the wide network of SP Jain graduates from around the world and learn from their experiences.
I decided to pursue an EMBA (on-campus) from SP Jain because it is one of the best B-schools in India with international recognition and global presence, and you graduate with an Australian degree. During the program, I learnt powerful and effective communication, collaboration, fostering teamwork, enhancement of my negotiation skills and related technical aspects, leadership skills, personal effectiveness, decision-making and problem-solving skills, and innovative thinking. The program allowed me to continue my work commitments with no requirement of a break from my job.
It has given me a platform to learn from my peers from different industries and understand the dynamics in other sectors such as banking, real estate, retail and hospitality. The Global Immersion Project (GIP) is one of the USPs of this program which takes you to another international campus and gives you a chance to showcase your work by studying a business and its associated challenges, and finally come up with a business recommendation, which is worked through after brainstorming by the peer group and with the help of world-class professors and mentors. I would describe my experience at SP Jain as an excellent learning journey with a holistic understanding of businesses, facilitated by exceptional faculty and program structure.
