On the 19^th of January, the S P Jain Jags had a much awaited industrial visit to the Mirzam Chocolate Factory at Al Serkal Avenue, Dubai. Mirzam is a very new brand of luxury chocolates and the only ‘bean to bar’ chocolate manufacturer in UAE. Named after one of the brightest stars in the night sky, ‘Mirzam’ caters to a very specific niche market with their completely natural and preservative-free products.

On 19th January 2017, 25 students of SP Jain’s undergraduate batch visited the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees’ Dubai Main Office in the MENA region. UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is a global organisation dedicated to saving lives, protecting rights, and building a better future for refugees, forcibly displaced communities, and stateless people.

The MGLuxM Conversation Series has been off to a great start. After their initiation into the series with a conversation on the Luxury Cars, the second event was held on 16th December, 2016, where the students gained deep insights into the changing Jewellery Industry. The students learnt from the industry stalwarts about the consumers then and now.

MGB students specializing in Global Finance visited the Dubai Financial Market, the leading financial market across the region, on 15^th December 2016, as a part of their Global Learning Day.

E-business students had two industry visits on the same day, 15^th of December, 2016. The first was to Square Circle Tech and the second was to the Jado Pado, UAE to study the technology and e-business in Dubai and MENA region.

Intra School Tournaments always bring out the best in the students. SP Jain’s Dubai campus undertook “The Battle of the Divisions” from the 6^th to 14^th of December, 2016. The event was as amazing as it sounds! The MGB students from Division A and Division B internally competed in 7 fun leagues and one day tournaments that included Football, Basketball, Cricket, Badminton, Table Tennis & Pool. Held at SP Jain’s Dubai Campus, GEMS Modern Academy and Nad Al Sheba, the event got everyone involved and enhanced teamwork while indulging in fun activities. Division A emerged as winners with 45 points and Division B trailed with 30 points.

A day road trip to Abu Dhabi, the opulent capital city of the United Arab Emirates, that has often been elevated not only in terms of being a global business hub but as an eminent area of architectural design was conducted on 9^th December.

Postgraduate students pursuing Global Business made a visit to Dubai Future Accelerators on 7^th December. Dubai Future Accelerators is a unique opportunity for technology companies to gain unparalleled access to the staff, resources and expertise of Dubai’s government entities. It convenes entrepreneurs, government leaders, investors, corporates and students together to foster a global community built on innovation. The students were introduced to the key eight Dubai entities — mostly government departments — that are working with 30 private sector establishments on potential breakthroughs in safety and security, education, health care, sustainable infrastructure, energy and water, technology, transport, and finance.
