Studying abroad can look deceptively simple from the outside. You choose a university, book a flight, pack your bags and arrive in a new city. But once the excitement of the first few days fades, the experience becomes much more personal. What you have not pictured is the Tuesday afternoon three weeks in, when you are sitting alone in a new apartment, the WiFi is not connecting, you miss your mom's cooking, and you suddenly realise that you are responsible for decisions that your family may have handled for you.
