SP Jain School of Global Management embraced the spirit of National Girl Child Day on January 24, participating in an impactful initiative led by the members of the Girl Up club at the Mumbai campus.

Girl Up is a club centred around promoting social justice and gender equality, especially helping to advocate women’s rights and issues surrounding them. Girl Up provides learning, tools, and a platform to help guide girls along their journey from leaders to changemakers with a special focus on organising, advocacy, fundraising, and communications.

Our Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) 23’ Jaguars celebrated National Girl Child Day, organised by the passionate leaders of the Girl Up club. As a part of our commitment to global learning and student life, this effort aimed not only to observe the significance of the day but also to build around a culture of awareness within our student community.

At the heart of all the conducted activities was the creation of an exciting soft board, carefully made to showcase the signs of progress made in promoting gender parity and addressing the challenges faced by girls in our society. Students worked on the planning, thorough research, creative display, and eloquent presentation of these informative boards across the campus. From highlighting the need for improved female literacy to celebrating the accomplishments of women in our society, every aspect of the board was made to prompt thoughts.

In addition to the physical display, the club members also utilised digital platforms to boost the message of empowerment. Through targeted outreach and social media campaigns, they made an effort to reach a wider audience and mobilise support for the cause.

Furthermore, the club encouraged active participation from students and faculty alike, inviting them to join the conversation and lend their voices to the movement for gender equality.

Kudos to the Girl Up club leaders and everyone on the campus who played a part in this mission to promote awareness and create a more equitable society!
