Dr. Nawazish Mirza was invited as the keynote speaker for the 8th International Conference with the theme “Future World 2050” hosted by University of Pula, Croatia. This conference is indexed in Web of Science, and brings together various stakeholders including policy makers, professionals and academia to brainstorm on issues related to the current day business. The 2017 conference was aimed at discussing innovations and its impact on various business verticals for developed and emerging economies. Dr. Mirza’s key note speech explored challenges and opportunities for financial systems of the future amidst technological innovations.

Supply Chain Disruption Survey, 2017 featured in The Link Magazine, Dubai

Dr Rajiv Aserkar (Professor & Head of Logistics and Supply Chain Management) and Ali Ahammed Shamir (Academic Manager, GLSM in Dubai) recently published the lead article in The Link Magazine (Page 37-42, Issue 4, Volume 14, June 2017) evaluating the results of the survey conducted to understand various supply chain disruptions and its impact in the Middle East.

Dr Nawazish Mirza has published an article in Economic Research, Volume 30 (1), 2017 titled “Domestic and cross-border returns to bidders in acquisitions into the E.U”. Economic Research (Taylor & Francis Publication) is a peer reviewed journal with a JCR Impact Factor of 0.46 (Clarivative Analytics). The article analyses cross border mergers and acquisitions of United Kingdom’s banking sector between 2006 – 2013 and reports negative synergies for regulatory driven M&A activities.

Supply Chain Management Conclave, 2017 – Mumbai Chapter

After the successful completion of the Dubai and the Singapore chapters, Supply Chain Management Conclave was conducted at the Mumbai Campus on 5th May, 2017. The two panels discussed the recent changes in the global arena including the US presidential elections, vote on Brexit, oil price volatility and climate changes that will have a profound impact on supply chains, terrorist attacks at strategic nodes in the supply chain, regulatory norms governing cross-border trade, cyber security threats and advent of big data and 3D printing and positive disruptions. They also put forward their strategies to meet the challenges arising from the unexpected events.

Dr Rajiv Aserkar presents his paper at the IPSERA Conference, Budapest, Hungary

Congratulations to Dr Rajiv Aserkar (Professor and Area Head – Logistics & Supply Chain, S P Jain School of Global Management) who presented his paper titled “Making Sourcing Decisions Through Total Landed Cost Exercise” in The International Purchasing and Supply Education and Research Association (IPSERA) Conference in Budapest, Hungary. The paper received appreciations from fellow educators from the top universities and leading industries from across the world. The Conference was co-hosted by University of Pannonia, Corvinus University of Budapest and Supply Chain Finance Community.

Dr. Nicolas Hamelin to Chair the 26th World Business Congress, IMDA

Dr. Nicolas Hamelin has been invited to chair the 26th World Business Congress of the International Management Development Association (IMDA), which will be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, between the 19th and 23rd May, 2017. Dr. Nicolas will chair the congress as well as present at the Session II.14: Global Marketing Management and Business Strategies. His keynote address will focus on the topic “How neuroscience can help package design.”

About the Conference:

The 26th World Business Congress of the International Management Development Association (IMDA) will be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, between May 19-23, 2017. The major local organiser is Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, in cooperation with different private and public sector partners from Kyrgyzstan.
