In 2005, an economist warned one of the world's most influential financial gatherings that markets were heading toward catastrophe. He was dismissed, even mocked. Three years later, the 2008 Global Financial crisis proved him spectacularly right. That economist was Raghuram Rajan, who went on to become Governor of the Reserve Bank of India. Before starting my GMBA, I had a background in Hospitality and the Expert Network/Information Services industry. I always fancied the title of “Dr” as a prefix to the name. To me, people with the title of “Dr” always seemed to have an aura and symbolise maturity, knowledge, authority, and more respect. I always felt that the journey to complete a “Doctorate” is as arduous as becoming a super-specialist medical professional or an IAS/IPS officer in India.
