Dubai is a city that offers a rich culture and heritage along with a perfect blend of a multi-ethnic and diverse society. After having experienced the convenience of Singapore's public transport, it was definitely an experience adjusting to the long distances and extreme weather conditions of Dubai. But looking back, I have had an amazing time in Dubai, especially because it was much more challenging academically, and we had awesome professors who made learning interesting by their sense of humor, personality, worldly wisdom and friendliness.

I was jumping up and down with joy! For the first time, all 51 boxes of the Sudoku puzzle in the “Week-End” newspaper were unerringly filled. For an 8-year-old armed with nothing more than a pencil and a weekly paper, this was a monumental accomplishment. That moment sparked a love for numbers that continues to burn within me, leading me to firmly believe that the world of analytics is where I belong.

Over the years I have been asked by many BBA grads for advice on the best career choice and how to achieve it. My answers have changed over the years, but my recommended process has not. Being a visual person, I like to see things, so the first step in starting a career as a fresh grad is to choose the/a position that you aspire to and work backwards to come up with the right starting position and the associated pathway to achieving your goal eventually.

My story with data science begins with a simple love for maths and coding. I started coding during high school and had already grasped some fundamentals before deciding on my career path. The turning point came when I attended a conference in Vietnam discussing the potential of AI. It was there that my passion for data was ignited, and I realised the incredible impact this field could have on the world. Choosing to study data science at SP Jain Global felt like the natural next step to turn this passion into a profession.
