A career at sea is not for the meek. A majority of global trades happen across the oceans, demanding that the seafarers often brave their lives in order to achieve their targeted goals and serve the public. How could they be rewarded for these efforts? This is what serial entrepreneur Saurish Nandi (Executive MBA Class of 2012) wanted to address when he co-founded SeaMiles in late 2018. We caught up with Saurish to know more about the venture.

After completing his engineering degree in IT, Siddharth Vishwanath (GMBA’09) started his career by working in the IT services industry for 2 years before he decided to join SP Jain to pursue the Global MBA program. “When I started my GMBA, I was very new in the industry, and quite naïve. So, it was no surprise that the first few days in the program were overwhelming, to say the least. The power-packed curriculum, meeting new people, travelling to new places, trying new cuisines – it was a completely new territory for me,” says Siddharth.

A commerce graduate from Bangalore’s Christ University, Rishab Bhansali had done a couple of internships and spent a few years working with his family’s business before enrolling for SP Jain’s Master of Global Business (MGB) program in 2018. Manthan Shah (BBA Intake of 2018) is a professional athlete who captained India’s team in the International Table Tennis Championship (Pacific Games, Australia) and won 2 bronze medals in the event before he joined SP Jain. Since then, he represented the School in the Spartan Race (Malaysia, Philippines, and Singapore) and is currently the youngest Indian to do so. He also gave a talk at TEDxGateway, was a part of the Dean’s List for academic excellence, was a guest speaker at the Podcast on Climate Change with Scott Amyx (USA), participated in the outreach program in Philippines, published a research paper on Circular Economy, won three gold medals at the Fiesta Games 2019, and so much more!

The past 8 weeks I spent at the Mondelez Head Office in Mumbai have been a truly flavour-packed experience.
