Could you tell us about your venture, JPS Legal?

Apoorva Mittal (BBA’14) recently authored her first book, Refugee Changemakers: From Displaced to Indispensable, which documents the journey of thirteen immigrants from Syria, Iraq, Eritrea, Uganda, Sirrea Leone and Rwanda to the Netherlands. The foreword for the book has been written by Dr Henrik Syse (member of the Norwegian Nobel committee). Two of the stories from the book were also featured in a report by UN Academic Impact and Media Tenor, which was launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2018.

As I find myself jotting down my experiences from the past year, I realise how quickly time had passed by, and how unique my Master of Global Business (MGB) experience was at SP Jain School of Global Management. Before I joined the program, I had many tell me, “This will be the best one year of your life wherein you will learn a lot and graduate as a positively different person.” Not surprisingly, I began my MBA journey with a lot of hopes, ambitions, and expectations. Today, those hopes have become my realities and continue to help me step in the direction of my ambitions.

We caught up with our alumnus, Rachit Chandra (GMBA’13), getting to know his success story. Rachit is currently working as the Deputy General Manager – Human Resources with Samsung Electronics. My story started on January 9, 2016, when I first moved to Singapore. Before this, I was working as a vet and an export technical manager of a pharmaceutical company based in Italy. Having completed my PhD in Veterinary Medicine, my studies opened several lucrative doors for me in the agro-zoo-veterinary sector. However, my goal was to start managing a leading organisation and increase their performance, and I had absolutely no experience in this area.

When I first got confirmation that I’d be interning at Fairfax, I assumed I would be a marketing intern. Turned out I was to work in the Research team, which was exciting and scary at the same time – I had absolutely no idea what they had in store for me! Who would’ve guessed that I would end up developing a soft side for the Market Research industry?

Right from tracking assets and inventory to conducting audits and payments, blockchain technology is driving supply chain with more efficiency. Several aspects of the supply chain can be enhanced as blockchain ensures traceability, transparency, and less administrative costs. The analog gaps that are generally present within the systems and across the boundaries of an enterprise can be effortlessly eliminated. Companies can now easily reestablish their approach to an integrated global perspective.
