Sydney

Sydney is the state capital of New South Wales and the most inhabited city in Australia. It is built on hills surrounding Port Jackson which is commonly known as Sydney Harbour, where the iconic Sydney Opera House and the Harbour Bridge feature prominently.

The city is highly ranked globally and has been a host to multiple major international sporting events, including the 1938 Commonwealth Games and the 2000 Summer Olympics. The cultural life is dynamic, diverse and multi-ethnic. Many of the individual cultures that make up the Sydney medley are centred on the cultural, artistic, ethnic, linguistic and religious communities formed by influences of immigration.

Sydney is a major global city with a vibrant scene of musical, theatrical, visual, literary and other artistic activities. It gets rated among the world´s best city for a combination of business, culture, sport and food and recreation. It draws over 150,000 international students every year and is home to 48% of Australia´s top 100 companies. It therefore offers an exceptional backdrop for a study abroad program. The experience can be life changing, as most people who have studied there would indicate.
