Giving a Voice to the Immigrants – Apoorva Mittal (BBA’14) Shares the Story of Writing Her First Book

 

Apoorva Mittal (BBA’14) recently authored her first book, Refugee Changemakers: From Displaced to Indispensable, which documents the journey of thirteen immigrants from Syria, Iraq, Eritrea, Uganda, Sirrea Leone and Rwanda to the Netherlands. The foreword for the book has been written by Dr Henrik Syse (member of the Norwegian Nobel committee). Two of the stories from the book were also featured in a report by UN Academic Impact and Media Tenor, which was launched at the World Economic Forum in Davos in 2018.

Graduating as a Better Version of Myself – My MGB Journey with SP Jain

As I find myself jotting down my experiences from the past year, I realise how quickly time had passed by, and how unique my Master of Global Business (MGB) experience was at SP Jain School of Global Management. Before I joined the program, I had many tell me, “This will be the best one year of your life wherein you will learn a lot and graduate as a positively different person.” Not surprisingly, I began my MBA journey with a lot of hopes, ambitions, and expectations. Today, those hopes have become my realities and continue to help me step in the direction of my ambitions.

My story started on January 9, 2016, when I first moved to Singapore. Before this, I was working as a vet and an export technical manager of a pharmaceutical company based in Italy.
