On 23rd June 2017, the Postgraduate students of SP Jain visited Wild Wadi, a renowned water theme park in heart of Dubai. Located in Jumeirah, the park is situated in front of the stunning Burj Al Arab, the famous seven-star hotel, making it one of the hottest attractions in town (Ironically, it quite literally cools you down!).

Wild Wadi has over thirty water rides, helping the visitors beat the heat and have an enthralling experience. A few select rides offer dabs of adrenalin rushes, for which people have a strong desire for. Being students, we wanted to make the most out of on an opportunity to be ‘Wild’.

After a strenuous week filled with meticulous work schedules involving lengthy assignments and assessments, we needed a release. A place to cool off was necessary to prepare for the rigour of the week that followed. What Wild Wadi had in store not only energised the fading minds from the onerous weekly burdens, it also soothed the souls that had been agitated by the soaring temperatures of Dubai. This city, as wonderful as it can be, had a ‘Wild’ crazy ‘Wadi’ ablution ready for us all. One moment you feel worn out by your week’s schedule, the next instant you feel mesmerised by what this city has to offer – you just have to love this place for how it treats its people.

The students spent the entire day cooling off at the park. First-time visitors had some great reviews to share. I caught a friend of mine, Shirley Paynor, a foreign student from the Philippines, halfway through one of the most exciting rides. “I want to do this every minute of every day!”, she exclaimed. Not sure if the school would mind losing out on a prestigious student for a water park – quite a dilemma, this.

As we spent the day jostling and running for the best water rides, I could see some exhausted but content faces all around. Peer group talks were on about the satisfying day, not to mention the inevitable rounds of pictures and selfies that followed before calling it a day. We left making moments and memories deeply etched in our hearts to cherish and to feel nostalgic about later in our lives. But knowing how ‘Wild’ this ‘Wadi’ can be, we will be sure to look back and return.
