There is no maximum age limit; however, it is preferable that candidates with over 3 years of work experience apply to the Global Master of Business Administration (GMBA) program.
No, you need a minimum of 15 years of education in order to apply.
Work experience is not mandatory and students with a range of 0-3 years of work experience are eligible to apply. Students with over 3 years of work experience may apply to the Global Master of Business Administration (GMBA) program.
Normally we select candidates with a high academic performance only. However, you may still apply and we will consider your overall profile including previous academic records, relevant work experience, extra-curricular activities and more.
If you are a resident in Dubai/Singapore/Sydney and are a working executive, then you can apply for our 'Executive MBA' course. The MGB program is a full time program, which does not permit you to work and study at the same time.
Yes, if your work experience is in the range of 0-3 years you may apply for the MGB program.
The application process for the September 2013 has already begun. You may submit your application online.
Yes, you may apply to the program prior to the final results being declared. You can also appear for the SPJAT, be put through the evaluation process should you meet S P Jain’s admission criteria and will also be offered admission post the evaluations on successfully completing the process, but the same would be a conditional offer linked to your final results. Should you meet the condition to the offer, the same would convert into an unconditional offer.
Though the last date to apply for the September 2013 intake is July 20, 2013, it is advisable to apply as soon as possible. Applications received and admissions offered to deserving candidates are on a rolling basis, without waiting for the last date.
This is strictly not allowed. A candidate needs to submit only one application and has been given the choice of applying for 2 specializations in a single application only. In fact, duplication of applications may lead to a candidate’s form/admission being disqualified.
In view of the program being one, you do not need to apply separately for the three campuses; you need to send us one application only.
You can apply through our Mumbai, Dubai or Singapore offices. You may apply online which will automatically get processed locally. For shortlisted students the evaluation process will be conducted in Mumbai, Dubai and Singapore.
S P Jain requires aptitude test scores, preferably a GMAT or CAT score. If you have not taken the GMAT or CAT you must take an aptitude test conducted by S P Jain (SPJAT). We are also accepting SPJAT scores of tests held from October 2011 onwards for the September 2013 intake only. For further details, please check the
'Application Procedure' on the website.
No. If you are shortlisted for the evaluation process you would need to carry these for verification and if demanded at the interview.
Yes. However, you would need to have a passport by July 1, 2013, as we need to commence your visa process.
If you have forgotten to mention certain details in your application and wish to inform us about the same, all you are required to do is send an email to mgb@spjain.org with all the details and information that you wish to update on your form and the admissions team will do the necessary. It will not be possible for you to update your application as it is locked for editing. Please do not re-apply as this is strictly not allowed.
Yes, you would be required to go through our evaluation process if you are shortlisted for admission. The evaluation process comprises case study analysis, 2 short essays and a panel interview (subject to change).
There is no one criterion for admission that we look for. We evaluate a potential candidate overall, on several factors. These are: GMAT/CAT or SPJAT scores, academic record (we usually expect candidates to have a first class all through their academics), work experience, extracurricular achievements, leadership qualities, and more.
Fees may be paid in AED or USD. Fees are payable at our Dubai, Singapore and Sydney campus only. No rupee payments will be accepted in India.
Evaluation and aptitude test fees may be paid as follows:
- Candidates in India - in USD
- Candidates in Dubai - in AED or USD
- Candidates in Singapore - in cash only
Candidates are required to take any of the acceptable English Language tests which is a mandatory requirement for processing the Australia visa and submit a score of 6.5 for the IELTS and above or its equivalent for any of the other English language tests – e.g. TOEFL, Pearson, on or before August 10, 2013. S P Jain would commence the visa processing for Dubai/Singapore only on receipt of the above said English Language score and the fees payable.
It is rare for us to admit candidates with a GMAT less than 650, CAT less than 80th percentile and SPJAT less than 80th percentile. However, we consider the overall profile of the candidate including past academic records, relevant work experience, extracurricular activities and achievements to name a few.
You must re-take the CAT as we accept the results declared in January 2012 and January 2013. We accept GMAT scores for tests undertaken from July 1, 2010 up to July 20, 2013 and SPJAT scores for tests undertaken from October 2011 onwards.
Yes, we are accepting SPJAT scores starting October 2011 for the September 2013 intake.
As the SPJAT is an internal exam and one of several criteria used to evaluate candidates for admission into the MGB program, we would not be declaring their scores. An email, informing candidates whether their scores meet with S P Jain's requirements, will be sent.
If you have already taken the test, you need to fill in your scores on the application form wherever indicated. If you are yet to take the test, while registering for the GMAT you may indicate that you require your GMAT score to be sent directly to us. Our institution code is CL8-BV-59.
Yes, you can apply and then take the SPJAT or any one of the other two acceptable tests.
You need to inform us about the score by sending an email to
mgb@spjain.org
Yes, you can take our internal aptitude test (SPJAT). We will consider the highest score from both the tests whilst evaluating your application.
No, we do not have sectional cut offs; we expect the overall score to meet our cut off.
The SPJAT conducted internally by S P Jain is intended to test a candidate’s IQ, mathematical ability, logic and reasoning capacity, English reading and comprehension ability. There is also a section on general knowledge which is intended to test the knowledge of current events and normal business awareness.
The test is for duration of 1 hour and it consists of around 40 to 45 questions. The format of the test may change from time to time but the testing would be on the mentioned parameters.
The aptitude test is paper based.
Yes, there is negative marking – differentquestions may have a different scale of negative marking, and this would be taken into account while calculating a candidate’s score.
The aptitude test is normally conducted in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Dubai and Singapore (subject to change). For September 2013 intake, S P Jain's aptitude test will be held in the months of May, June, July 2013. Full details would be put up on our website, closer to the dates of the test.

Visas are valid for one year from the date of entry in the country, or until the expiration of the program, whichever is earlier.
We will process visas for Dubai and Singapore. Students need to process the Australian visa personally. S P Jain would facilitate and assist with all the documentation. Australian visa fees would be paid by students as applicable. Students are required to demonstrate sufficient financial resources to cover their expenses towards tuition fees, living, travel and/or any other personal expenses. We recommend that students familiarize themselves of the visa requirements to ensure their eligibility for issuance of a student visa. Students are also required to demonstrate their English Language proficiency for the Australian visa by submitting either a TOEFL or IELTS score or any other test score acceptable by the Australian immigration. You are required to make your own travel arrangements.
The Australian immigration does not allow S P Jain to apply for visas on behalf of the students hence students would need to do the necessary themselves. However, S P Jain shall provide assistance in case of any information required with respect to the student visa process. Students may also log on to
www.immi.gov.au for further details.
Full details on student visas for Australia are available on
http://www.immi.gov.au/students/.
In the unlikely event of the student's Australian visa being rejected, he would have the option of re-applying for the visa and may join the next batch of the MGB/GMBA program at Sydney, after securing the same. This would enable the student to graduate from the MGB/GMBA program and avail of placement services. As students of the same specialization start from different locations for successive batches, it would mean that the program would be a two-city program for such students. In other words, if a student started in Singapore and missed his second trimester in Sydney, he could do the second trimester in Sydney with the next batch and would then go to Singapore (not Dubai) for the third trimester. The student can register for placement assistance in Singapore, with the graduating batch.
In case a student’s visa is rejected and he wishes to withdraw from the program, S P Jain would retain the Registration fees of USD 5000 and also 1/3rd of the fees paid toward tuition, accommodation, course material, cases and simulations being the expenses towards the first trimester of the GMBA program to be completed in Dubai/Singapore based on the student’s specialization and refund the balance fees paid to the School, if the Australian student visa is rejected. Costs towards visas processed and medical insurance coverage paid for by S P Jain prior to the Australia visa being rejected are non-refundable.
Applicants would be required to provide valid proof that their visa has been refused and the reason for the rejection of the visa, to receive the refund. If unable to substantiate, S P Jain has the discretion of not refunding the fees paid to the applicant.
Full details on the English Language requirements for Australian student visas are available
here.

The batch could have between 80-100 students in total.
The four-month crossover between the three campuses is compulsory. All students begin the program in Dubai or Singapore, depending on their choice of specialization and move to Sydney. They swap campuses in the last four months of the program.
The course begins around the first week of September 2013 (tentative). Yes, we have three intakes. The first in January, second in May and a third intake in September.
The MGB is a 16-month program. Of the total 16 months, 4 months is the internship period which could be completed either in Dubai, Singapore, Sydney or any other country.
No, you cannot do the course through correspondence. This is a full time compulsory residential program.
This is a very subjective question. It is important to choose a specialization depending on what career you wish to pursue. Engineers are welcome to apply to any specialization of their choice. Having a background relevant to your specialization enhances your profile.
Both programs will cover very similar material but the main difference between the two courses is the experience level. The MGB program is meant for candidates with 0-3 years of work experience and the GMBA program is for candidates with 3+ years of work experience.
Since both the programs cover very similar material we give an opportunity for the MGB graduates to obtain the GMBA degree provided they satisfy the following conditions:
- Have a minimum of 3 years of full-time work experience of which a minimum is 2 years post the MGB program.
- Return to S P Jain for 6 weeks. 4 weeks will cover additional subjects and 2 weeks will be towards the Action Learning Project. The additional subjects to be covered are Advanced Business Strategy and Leadership of 2 credits each.
- Obtain a minimum CGPA of 3.0.
- Request for all credits from the MGB to be transferred and applied to the GMBA program.
The maximum time within which MGB graduates can return to S P Jain to pursue the GMBA is 5 years from the year of graduating from the MGB program. Beyond this time-frame it would not be possible to transfer to the GMBA degree.
The option to transfer to the GMBA degree will commence from the end of 2015. Details regarding the transfer option, fees to be paid, start dates etc. will be available on the website closer to start of the transfer option.

The S P Jain School of Global Management is registered as a Higher Education Provider in Australia. ‘The qualification is recognized within the Australian Qualifications Framework'. The Australian credential enhances the international acceptance of the degree, whether you wish to pursue more advanced studies or a global career.
The MGB program is for a duration of 16 months which includes 4 months of internship. Since the internship is a part of the program it is mandatory for all students. The internship is to be done at any of S P Jain’s campus locations, India or any country where the student has an opportunity to do the same.
Placement assistance is provided to students who have opted to be a part of the 'placement' group. Despite being in the placement category, students still need to abide by the requirements of minimum CGPA, attendance, Code of Conduct as declared by the S P Jain management and shared with students at the beginning of the year.
Placements are offered not only in Dubai, Singapore and Sydney but also in India and other countries.
The campus you complete the program in has no bearing on where you will be placed. You can be placed, in Dubai, Singapore, Sydney, India or anywhere else in the world, based on your preference, and the job location best suited to your needs and profile. You can choose the geography (Dubai, Singapore, Sydney and India) that you wish to settle in.
Work visas are organized by the company which offers a job. It is usually quite easy to get a work visa in Dubai, Sydney and Singapore.
On-campus housing is compulsory and you cannot stay off-campus. The program demands much preparation, group study, and peer learning. Staying together on-campus facilitates a smoother learning process for all participants, allowing them to benefit from team work, individual talents, cross-cultural exposure, and more.
Housing on all three campuses is on shared basis. In Dubai, participants are housed in apartments. In Singapore, participants live in dormitories. The number of occupants per room varies depending upon the size of the room (small = 2 occupants, medium = 3 occupants, large = 4 or 5 occupants). Men and women are housed separately in the apartments or dormitories, but live in the same building. In Sydney, students will be housed in apartments located at Wentworth Point which is just a short distance from the campus.
Yes, you are allowed to bring your spouse along. However, additional cost of the spouse's accommodation would need to be borne by you.
Various meal plans are available, both on and off campus, in Sydney, Dubai, and Singapore. There is a variety of vegetarian food in all three cities.
The accommodation fees do not cover the internship period and students will have to look for accommodation on their own depending on the location of their internship experience. If on-campus accommodation is available, the same would be allocated on a first-come first-serve basis, on payment of additional charges.
