Work-life balance during a lockdown: Using time wisely

Quality leadership, engagement and culture are at the heart of SP Jain School of Global Management. I write this as it all started with a simple email from our President, Nitish Jain, triggered by a conversation with our Global Director (Counseling & Coaching Center) based in Dubai, Bijal Oza, on how we should use this lockdown period amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic for doing good things like building immunity, learning something or looking after elderly people.

‘An unforgettable journey’: Postgraduate students of Sept’17 cohort share their SP Jain experience

Our students are so much more than just ordinary business graduates. They are unconventional, adventurous and wish to take on the world of global business as leaders and innovators. One of the most valuable aspects of graduating from SP Jain School of Global Management’s tri-city postgraduate programs – Global MBA (GMBA) and Master of Global Business (MGB) – is the exposure to diversity and opportunity outside the classroom.

How does the Neuroscience Lab help students learning Business?

What is Neuroscience?

Reactions occur in a fraction of seconds. The brain functions and responds to the stimuli even before one consciously has the time to comprehend what happens. The cortex allows you to speak fluently and coherently, to plan for what you are going to say next, to focus your thoughts, to calm you nerves, and to respond to questions. Most of that is going on beyond awareness.

Survival strategies under uncertainty

On Friday, August 5, 2011, the world woke up to a reality that the USA had lost its credit rating of triple A. This means that the USA is no more the haven for investment it always was. The main reason for this credit rating downgrade was the politicking in Washington at the cost of the overall interest of the world in general and Americans in particular. The timing for this downgrading couldn’t have been worse. Europe was already in the midst of debt crisis with Greece, Portugal, and Ireland on the brink and seeking bailout packages from their EU partners; and Italy also looking very vulnerable. The tremors of these economic upheavals are now felt all over the world. Global stock markets and currency markets are on a swing with trillions of dollars lost in the stock markets and investors finding safety in investing in gold. We are indeed living in a world where the economic volatility in the one hemisphere is affecting governments, large investors, banks, MNCs and people all over the world.
