As I wrap up my internship at Publicis Media (Performics), I look back at memories and the learnings of a lifetime. From being unsure of where I was headed to now not wanting to stop working, it’s been a phenomenally experiential, rewarding and fun journey.

In the beginning of November 2018, when I applied to Asia World Model United Nations (AWMUN) in Bangkok, I barely had any idea of what to expect. Imagine my surprise and excitement when I got my acceptance letter the very next day! Unfortunately, my excitement left me very soon, when I realised that not only did I not have enough money for this, I didn’t have enough time to earn the $800 either. A few days later, I decided to try my luck and ask the Global Learning Team (Nathaniel and Jamal) for advice and help, and they were so glad to help me. I can’t stress enough how thankful I am for their support, help, and understanding. They were the ones who gave me the courage to take up this experience.

1) You can’t achieve results by being comfortable

Embracing discomfort is the first step to achieving the ‘not so usual’ results. Nothing meaningful was ever achieved by being comfortable. Trekking at 60-degree slopes on the mountains tirelessly requires determination, continuous focus on the summit, and motivation.

My personal experience with SP Jain’s luxury management program was one of a kind. The course is beautifully designed – while regular class attendance and participation helped me prepare well for assignments and examinations, our professors went out of their way to guide us even outside the classrooms. We had numerous international faculty who helped us gain niche expertise. Their tie-ups with local agencies also helped us a lot – right from finding accommodation to the Visa verification interviews. The made the cumbersome process of moving to a new country completely hassle-free.

A Master’s degree is often the defining juncture of one’s career, whereby the next foreseeable future is governed by this sheet of bonded paper. But, then again, what the world sees as a mere sheet of bonded paper is so much more to its holder. It is a symbol of all the experiences in that time spent to attain that degree. A symbol of all those sleepless nights spent either reading or dancing the night away. This is what I thought to be the relevance of the sheet of paper we are “Rewarded” at the end of this Master of Global Business (MGB) program at SP Jain School of Global Management and, for the most part, not only has it lived up to this description but also so much more!
