When I joined the Master of Global Business (MGB) program at SP Jain Global, I expected academic rigour and international exposure. What I got instead was something way more powerful: perspective. Over the course of a year, I lived and studied in Singapore, London, and Dubai. Three cities that don’t just teach business, they breathe it. Each one flipped a different switch in me: how I think, how I work, and how I see the world.
Here’s what that journey looked like.
My MGB journey began in Singapore, a city that mirrors efficiency, structure, and innovation. Transitioning into a rigorous academic environment meant adapting quickly to a new learning rhythm. Achieving a place on the Dean’s List in my first two terms was a matter of discipline, consistency, and collaboration.
Group projects and case studies pushed me to work closely with peers from different countries and backgrounds. Here, I learned one of the most valuable lessons: leadership is about empathy and adaptability, not authority. Every discussion, every late-night brainstorming session, and every team presentation taught me how to balance diverse perspectives while steering a group toward common goals.
Singapore also emphasised the importance of long-term vision in business. The city’s focus on sustainability and innovation was reflected in our coursework and broadened my understanding of how supply chains can drive growth and responsibility. This phase of the program gave me the discipline and mindset that would prepare me for what lay ahead.
If Singapore shaped my foundation, London expanded my horizons. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the city’s energy and cultural diversity. Studying in Europe as a Global Logistics and Supply Chain student was particularly meaningful because this region is at the forefront of industrial transformation.
In classrooms, we explored advanced supply chain practices, from digital innovations to sustainability-driven models. Industry interactions and faculty discussions brought these ideas to life, connecting theory with practice in a deeply enriching way. I witnessed how European businesses are rethinking supply chain resilience in response to global disruptions—a crucial perspective for my future career.
Beyond academics, London was a cultural and personal growth experience. I gained an appreciation for European work culture—professional yet collaborative, structured yet flexible. SP Jain Global’s readiness programs ensured I could embrace these opportunities with cultural sensitivity and adaptability.
London reminded me that true learning happens both inside and outside the classroom. It pushed me to think bigger, to value diversity, and to approach challenges with an open mind.
The final term in Dubai was where everything came together. Known as a global trade and business hub, Dubai offered the perfect setting to apply the knowledge and insights I had gathered in Singapore and London.
Here, the focus shifted from theory to practice. Live projects with companies, hands-on simulations, and frequent industry interactions became the core of our learning. These experiences allowed me to solve real-world problems, refine my decision-making skills, and build confidence in applying supply chain strategies in dynamic environments.
What stood out most was Dubai’s forward-looking business culture. The city thrives on innovation, resilience, and ambition—qualities that resonated with me and shaped how I see my own career path. The exposure I gained here prepared me to step into the professional world with both technical knowledge and practical readiness.
Looking back, this tri-city MGB journey has been more than an academic pursuit—it has been a personal and professional transformation journey. Together, these experiences shaped me into someone academically strong, adaptable, culturally aware, and ready to contribute meaningfully to the global business landscape.
