From the different cultural interactions to the incredible friendships you make along the way, SP Jain provides its students with the best global learning experience. It helped me build confidence in myself and develop the skills that benefit me in both my personal and professional life. During Year 1, I worked at Marking Services Incorporated (MSI) in Singapore and worked part-time at international hotel chains like Hilton, Marriott, and Hyatt. Later, I worked with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in Mauritius, followed by my internships at Newland Global Group (NGG) and part-time at Michael Kors in Australia. After I graduated in 2020, I was able to secure a 2-month contract at a taxation company based in Brisbane, Australia. I am currently working at a broker in Australia, building real-world business experience.
I am currently working as a Digital Business Analyst Intern at AI Australia. I'll be participating in developing some digital software like ChatBot and Smart Recommendation Systems that already existed in the system using Python built-in libraries, C#, and .NET Framework. I will have a chance to collaborate with the professional team of AI Australia for 6 months and get familiar with Microsoft Azure services since the company has a strong partnership with Microsoft. The school's curriculum is very practical with a hands-on approach and I believe that the training I got at SP Jain is what helped me land this internship at AI Australia just after my Year 1.
These four years have been a massive learning experience in terms of business agility and cultural sensitivity. All the three locations – Singapore, Dubai and Sydney – are so different in the kind of marketing and business practices they adopt. There is so much to learn from living and working in these three dynamic business environments about how different segments of customers perceive different business and marketing efforts.
After spending a year learning the basics of computer programming, databases, linear algebra, calculus, machine learning and statistical data analysis, I was eager to apply my knowledge. I’m thankful to Dr Abhijit Dasgupta (Professor and Director – Bachelor of Data Science, SP Jain) who went out of his way to help my batchmates and me grab exciting internship opportunities at some of the world’s most renowned organisations including Institute of Technology, Indian Statistical Institute, VPBank, and many more. Not only did he help us build an excellent GPA, he also personally vetted our CVs to ensure that our profiles would be noticed by the employers.
Throughout my internship, the one aspect that constantly stood out for me was the level at which we were able to apply the knowledge we gained in our SP Jain classrooms to the project. I believe that the academic structure of the BDS program has equipped us with everything essential to succeed in this role. Our curriculum focussed a lot on machine learning and data visualisation methods, and these are concepts that we could apply to my research first-hand, helping us gain favourable results.
The last four years redefined friendship for me. I was introduced to people of all ages who came from multiple countries – people with different stories, backgrounds, and goals. Living, studying, and working with them for all these years truly helped me become who I am today. I wasn’t just learning from the classrooms, but also from my simple, daily life – right from learning new phrases in foreign languages to cooking a dish that I hadn’t even heard of till a few months ago. I’m more aware now, more culturally sensitive, and much more empathetic.
The global experiences that I had exposed me to uncountable cultures and experiences, which made me open to things I never thought I’d experience. In Singapore, I interned at Frost & Sullivan. This was followed by an internship with Bizwit Consultants (India), where I brushed up my report writing skills. When I came to Sydney for the final leg, I was hired by ACA Research where I assisted in Market Research – from creating survey links to full reports with charts and data analysis. ACA taught me end-to-end account handling.
Your safety, comfort and convenience are our priorities. You have the flexibility to customise your study plan for each year by choosing which of our four campuses (Dubai, Mumbai, Singapore, Sydney) you want to study in from the options available or study online with the flexibility to switch between online and on-campus.
For students who are already enrolled in a university in regions like US/UK/Europe, and would want to avoid the risk of travelling there, a distinct advantage of transferring into SP Jain is that you will be studying in a more reassuring environment closer to your home, family and friends.
The credits you earn during Year 1/Year 2/Year 3 at SP Jain are transferrable. Students have the option to return to the university they had originally enrolled in (when it is safe to do so) by keeping the credits they earned at SP Jain.
On completing your SP Jain degree, you may be able to live and work in Australia by applying for a post-study work visa. The post-study work visa is not a guaranteed outcome of the program. For more information on the conditions to be granted this visa, please visit the Australian Government’s Department of Home Affairs website: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/
