Featuring GMBA’11 Alumni Priyanshu Gupta this week for our Alumni Speak series, we catch up with him and find out how he spent his time at S P Jain.
“My S P Jain experience included a mix of both fun and academics. Though the 1- year program was a crunched course, which involved “high speed” lectures and required quick grasping ability, but it also created a base for understanding various Management fields”.
In our interaction with Priyanshu, he suggested that he admires the learned faculty which flew in from diverse geographies like Canada, India, Singapore and UAE. He goes on to highlight the reasons why he chose S P Jain to pursue his MBA. Among others, the global exposure and the duration of the program were the top reasons for his choice which in turn helped him in his career. “Post my MBA, I got a campus selection in Cedar Management Consulting which proved to be a stepping stone for pursuing my dream of building a career in Consulting. I then moved to PricewaterhouseCoopers and then KPMG, my current organisation”, he suggests gleamingly.
Priyanshu Gupta, now an Assistant Manager with one of the leading consulting firms in the world, credits the Applied Research Project and Action Learning Project— two key highlights of S P Jain’s core curriculum- to have helped him gauge his capabilities as well as understand the skill requirements for Consulting projects. “Since S P Jain MBA provides specialisation in specific streams, it (also) helped me acquire some specific skills required in the industry in the specialisation that I had chosen, i.e. IT Management”, Priyanshu asserts. “The MBA program also included a course on e-Governance which is currently a growing field in Management Consulting Industry which I realised when I was specifically interviewed for an e-governance job opening in PwC. The concepts and frameworks that we had been taught in the class came in handy and helped me crack the interview”. Currently based in Gurgaon, India, Priyanshu Gupta works in the domain of IT Advisory – Risk Consulting which spans IT Consulting, Information Security Assessment and IT Audit.
We are truly thrilled to see Priyanshu successfully implement his MBA skillset to the best of his potential and even more delighted to see him succeed in his ventures.
