Student blogs: Visit to The Oberoi and Trident Hotels

On 22nd January 2025, eleven Hospitality Business Leadership (HBL) students from SP Jain Global during a field visited The Oberoi and Trident Hotels, Nariman Point to witness luxury hospitality.

The visit began with a session at The Oberoi, Mumbai, a renowned 5-star hotel known for its service and guest focus. During a presentation for the HBL students, they learned about the group’s core values, its use of Artificial intelligence and digital marketing to boost operations, and the importance of strong crisis management in hospitality.

 

After the session, students were split into two groups for guided tours of The Oberoi and Trident Hotels. These tours gave them a close-up view of how luxury hotels work, covering everything from front desk operations and food service to guest interaction and eco-friendly practices.

 

 

 

Key learning outcomes for students

  • Learning about luxury hospitality: Students saw real examples of luxury service, technology use, and green practices in hotel operations.
  • F&B innovation: They learned how menus are carefully designed to create unique and enjoyable dining experiences for different types of guests.
  • Sustainability in hotels: The hotels shared their efforts to be more environmentally friendly, showing how the industry is adapting to global sustainability trends.
  • Digital marketing & PR: Students saw how online marketing and influencer partnerships help hotels build their brand and attract more guests.
  • Teamwork and leadership: The visit highlighted the importance of staff training, teamwork, and always putting the guest first.

 

 

This visit made academic concepts come to life, offering the HBL students a deeper understanding of industry practices and preparing them for roles in a competitive field.
