Integrated Marketing Communications with Mr. Vinod Kumar at the Dubai Campus

The second year Bachelor of Business Communication students at SP Jain’s Dubai campus learnt the value and power of integrated marketing communication with guest industry speaker Mr. Vinod Kumar, an experienced creative strategist and brand communications specialist based in UAE, on 6th February, 2017.

Mr. Kumar has been a part of leading global advertising networks such as Y&R, JWT, Grey, FCB and Hakuhodo. He has worked for different roles ranging from Copywriter to Creative Director to Brand Communications Consultant in some of the greatest brands such as Citibank, Apple, British Council, Pepsi, Honda, Singapore Tourism, Taj Group of Hotels, Panasonic, Dubai Investments, UNICEF and Dubai Health Authority.

The lecture explored the meaning of “Integrative Marketing Communication (IMC)” – where students learnt how IMC is a consolidation of subliminal messages that are strategically placed throughout our daily routines and inter-personal communication to cultivate a brand. The difficulty of corporations today lies within selective mode of communication that businesses must select to reach their demographic.

Mr. Kumar spoke about the broad prospects of effective advertisement as well as the list of related marketing variations for brands. He also shed light on different marketing channels, market reviews, competitive analysis, target persona, positioning, communication objectives, determining budgets, and media planning & campaigns.

The students interacted in a discussion about the experimental channels of communication in advertising, the parameters of the channel’s effectiveness and key challenges of the creative industry.
