Journeying through Switzerland's watchmaking heritage, MGLuxM students under the guidance of Mr Mark Schumacher, a luminary in luxury watches consulting, ventured into the heart of Le Locle and Sainte Crox, a center of Swiss watchmaking.

The journey commenced with a session led by Mr Antonie Tschumi, the visionary behind the prestigious design office "Neodesis." With his extensive experience of over two decades collaborating with esteemed luxury watchmakers, he provided invaluable insights into the art of watch design, telling interesting stories about new ideas and skilled work.

Exploring deeper, students were granted exclusive access to the manufacturing facilities of Metalem, Ultradec, Longines, and St. Imier. These esteemed institutions stand as pioneers in dial design and watchmaking. Within these workshops, students witnessed the meticulous process of transforming raw materials into exquisite timepieces.

During their visit to Sainte Crox, students toured exclusive brands such as De Bethune and the Musée International d'horlogerie, known as the world's largest watch museum, home to more than 4,500 collection pieces, of which 2,700 watches and around 700 wall clocks. The museum featured ancient sundials, intricate pocket watches, and contemporary creations, offering a journey through the history of timekeeping.

As their European study tour ended, students discovered that crafting watches is more than just about measuring time; it requires genuine dedication and passion in every creation.
