EVENT BRIEF: It was a memorable day at S P Jain’s Mumbai campus on 23rd November, as a debate competition was held among the BBA class of 2016. The theme of the debate was “Demonetisation”, a very trending topic in today’s economy. The student participation was commendable. It kick-started with an introduction, which was followed by the first speaker who spoke for the topic. The first team spoke about various points in favor of demonitisation and concluded by saying how “Corruption will not end but will reduce”.

The opposing team broke down the term ‘demonitisation’, and offered various points as to its ill effects. “Rome wasn’t built in a day. It’ll take a little time and effort, but will turn out well”, was one of the points highlighted by this team.

After the speakers were done with all they had to say, they answered various questions posed by the audience, which comprised of the BBA students. It is after this round that the judges gave their feedback and decided the winners.

The event was interesting since the students came fully prepared with facts, history, and figures. Both the teams presented their points very well and gave a deep insight into the topic at hand. The opposing team won the debate and got gift cards as a reward for their hard work from the Assistant Dean of the School.
