On a four-day study tour in Switzerland, SP Jain Global’s Luxury Goods & Services Management (MGLuxM) program Batch 15 students explored the artistry, precision, and innovation behind the nation’s legendary luxury industries.
From Hublot headquarters to Longines in St. Imier and the Omega Museum, the tour offered students an inside look at how Swiss watchmakers fuse cutting-edge technology with time-honoured craftsmanship.
Providing historical context, the International Watch Museum and a lecture on watchmaking were complemented by a session with certified expert Maria Bashutkina, who highlighted the features that set Swiss watches apart and their strategic advantage.
Beyond horology, MGLuxM students explored the Courtelary Chocolate Factory, experiencing the craft behind Switzerland’s iconic chocolates. Combined with curated professional meetings and culturally rich lunches at La Rouveraie and La Chaux-de-Fonds, the experience offered a full-spectrum view of Swiss excellence.
This tour served as a masterclass in luxury, showcasing how craftsmanship, brand heritage, and technological innovation intersect. Engaging with industry experts, including Maria Bashutkina, students gained insights into competitive positioning, brand differentiation, and operational excellence.
