BIO

Dr. Haico Ebbers is a Professor of International Economics at Nyenrode Business Universiteit in Netherlands. Professor Ebbers studied International Economics and macro-economics at the University of Groningen. In 1991 he joined Nyenrode and completed his PhD in 1995.

He is recognised as one of the leading thinkers in the field of EU-China economic relations. He is a guest professor at various national and international universities, including some top universities in China. He was a visiting professor at China Europe International Business School in Shanghai between 1996 and 2006 and is still active as a visiting professor at Renmin University in Beijing.

Furthermore, he teaches several Immersion Programs at SP Jain School of Global Management in Dubai, Singapore and Sydney. Besides teaching in degree programs all over the world, he is a well-known presenter at company events and conferences.

The focus of his book “Unravelling Modern China” (2019) is on debunking many of the misconceptions about China by (mostly) Western managers, policymakers and media. In his latest book “New Economic powers and the changing global landscape” (2022), he analyses the development of the largest emerging markets and how they will influence globalisation.
