S P Jain School of Global Management in association with Dunia Finance organized an event 'Visit Visa', a 90 minute solo performance (comedy), where Gagan Mudgal played 15 different characters in the role of Dilip.
The event which was attended by around 150 S P Jain alums along with their families had an atmosphere of camaraderie outside the theatre. Old friends catching up with conversations like “You have gained weight, you haven’t changed at all, and did you know he got married as well” were all being heard in the backdrop before the play commenced. Family members were being told the teasing and leg pulling stories of the college days. No details were being spared and the fun-filled memories were brought alive. The alums had branding, financial acumen and strategic tips as part of the discussions while elaborating about their current roles in the industry. Gaurav Sharma, an alumnus, quoted “It is nostalgic to meet so many seniors and juniors along with the faculty and staff at the same time. We should have more of these outings”.
The curtains opened to Dilip in a typical bachelor’s accommodation in Dubai. On a 60 day visit visa, Dilip is hopeful to get a job. During his job hunt period, Dilip is encountered with a trillion experiences in a new city, Dubai. The whole melodrama is enacted with such passion by U.A.E's most loved radio jockey, Gagan Mudgal, keeping the audience in splits throughout the show.
Everyone left the show with promises to stay in touch, complimenting the organizers and requesting for more of such events. In the backdrop an energetic alumni announced to his friends “the party continues at my place.”
The event was organized on February 3rd, 2012 at Ductac Theatre, Mall of the Emirates, Dubai.
