S P Jain School of Global Management teams swept the first and second place at the NUS Business Case Competition 2012 organized by the Knowledge Management Club of the National University of Singapore (NUS) on March 30th, 2012.

The winning team was made up of MBA cohort including Harsh Chandriani, Nikhil Katira and Saurabh Singhal while the runners-up team had Ganesh Mallya, Abhineet Jain and Darshan Asokan.

Five teams from S P Jain Global MBA program competed against 15 teams from the other leading local universities and foreign business schools. The teams were given four days to prepare a challenging business case focused on Strategy and Finance on Al-Hilal Bank in the Middle-East.

The teams gathered and presented their solutions to a panel of professors from NUS and industry experts. Each team presented their case, which led to an intense round of questions by the panel on the case, business strategy and finance in relation to the Al-Hilal Bank case. In the final stage of the competition, the organizers introduced a twist to the case for the teams to resolve in 30 minutes.

As the Al-Hilal business case was chosen for the competition to promote entrepreneurship, innovative problem solving that involved interconnected issues revolving around the banking industry, culture, business politics and strategic management, S P Jain’s teams impressed the panel of experts by demonstrating strong decision making abilities, teamwork, analytical and communication skills to clinch the first and runner-up awards.
