On Tuesday, December 13th, 2011 S P Jain successfully conducted their 9th blood donation drive. The response to the drive was excellent, with 19% of students, faculty, and staff participating. More than 100 people registered and 62 units of blood were collected. According to the World Health Organization, only 1.5% of Singapore's population are blood donors. That puts S P Jain's achievement donor rate very high.
The donors included GMBA April 11 Students, GMBA Nov 10 students, GMBA Nov 11 students, BBA 10 students, BBA 11 students, staff and faculty, and for the first time, our Former Dean, Dr. Mark Crosby.
A special thanks goes to the organizers and the donors. One donation (approximately 450ml to 500ml) can save as many as three lives. The blood donated by S P Jain will be used for transfusions and in the production of medications.
