  S P Jain Singapore holds its 5th Convocation Ceremony  

The S P Jain School of Global Management, Singapore marked its 5th Convocation ceremony on June 10, 2010 in a gala event held at Holiday Inn Atrium Singapore. The Convocation ceremony marked the rite of passage for the Global MBA batch of April 2009 marking their successful completion of the Global MBA Program alongside 28 participants from the Executive MBA Program who were also successfully conferred their degrees.

The special event was graced by the Guest of Honor - Mr. Suresh Narayanan, Managing Director Nestle Singapore Pte. Ltd.; Mr. Nitish Jain, President, S P Jain, Prof Subba Iyer, Head - Singapore campus, Dr. Balakrishna Grandhi, Dean of the Executive MBA, Dr Dawn Dekle, Dean for Global BBA and Prof Christopher Abraham, Head Dubai campus and Sr. Vice President was the Master of Ceremony at the event.

In his Presidential address Mr. Jain reminded the graduating students of the importance of being 'prepared' and to make a 'difference' through their conduct. He spoke about how the brand was gaining recognition and the various new initiatives launched by S P Jain in recent months. He stressed on the need for graduates to uphold the S P Jain banner as they step out of the Business School, to take it higher and carry it with pride as they were to be the future Brand Ambassadors for S P Jain.

Dr Grandhi in his address spoke of the need for a new breed of executives and professionals known as "Corporate Athletes" always prepared and moving towards excellence. Dr Dawn stressed on the need for graduates to understand the importance of learning how to engage and motivate people and how presentation and soft skills were increasingly becoming important yardsticks of being a strong and influential leader.

The keynote address by Mr. Suryanarayana, Managing Director for Nestle Singapore, was the highlight of the evening's function where he shared his perspective on the five guidelines he followed through his successful corporate journey over the years. He spoke on how it is important to focus on ones strength, to be flexible and having team spirit. He stated that with the right attitude and humility one can achieve great heights and success would surely follow.

The event concluded with the ceremonial tossing of the graduation hats followed by the graduation dinner.

Prof Christopher's closing remarks portrayed well S P Jain's achievements and vision "...S P Jain is a business school with Indian Roots, Asian footprints, Global aspirations and Australian accreditation"
