After a successful launch of the Bridge to BBA 2010 program last year, S P Jain hosted its second Bridge to BBA program at its Singapore Campus from 27th - 30th June, 2011. 50 aspiring students from Singapore, China, Australia, USA, UK, India, Qatar, Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and South Korea, participated in the event to get the rare opportunity of experiencing a slice of college life.
The Bridge to BBA participants got a first-hand 'feel' of S P Jain's 4 year BBA and its unique twin-city model with the Singapore and Sydney advantage.
Students resided in campus housing, interacted with S P Jain's faculty and current students, participated in classroom experiences, explored the campus and toured Singapore.
Some of the highlights of the program were: a case study session on devising a business plan for an innovative product by Professor and Former Dean GMBA, John Davis; a discussion workshop on Steve Jobs Convocation address at Stanford and Harvard by Associate Professor and Assistant Dean BBA, Alesa Lightbourne, and a workshop on positive thinking by Mr Thaddeus Lawrence, a motivational speaker and a four desert ultra-marathon runner.
Students also had a fantastic time participating in exciting on and off campus events like the Treasure Hunt, a Spelling Bee competition, an informal breakfast with faculty, a beach barbeque, a movie night at Golden Village and a dance night finale.
This blend of diverse activities during the Bridge to BBA 2011 program conveyed S P Jain's philosophy of Complete Education encompassing academic rigor, personality development and global mindset - encouraging students to be personally effective and to have the ability to make a difference and emerge as a leader. Students gained insights on development of skills for a smooth transition from High School to undergraduate education.
