AlmaConnect Knowledge Share Series #2: Digital Ecosystem: Local and Global

Initiated in September, the AlmaConnect Knowledge Share Series aimed to bring the SP Jain Alumni community back on the campus for a series of thought-provoking talks.

On 17^th December, the Alumni community met again at the Mumbai campus for the second event in the series that drew industry leaders to interact with the Alumni, current students and members of the faculty here at SP Jain, Mumbai.

The theme of the event was Digital Ecosystem: Local and Global and the speakers for the evening each shared their ideas on the growing relevance of running a business in the respective ecosystems.

Mr. Prasad Ajgaonkar (Founder & Managing Director - Interactive Realities Group), the first speaker of the evening, spoke at length about the development of technology and its evolution over the years. He drew inferences and decoded the theories of behaviour when one uses technology in their day-to-day being. He also pointed out the relevance of governance when one is an active contributor in the Digital realm, raising some very challenging concerns and questions about safety within Internet.

The second speaker of the evening, Dr. Raja Roy Choudhury (Director – Professional PG Programs – Digital Marketing & Metrics; Retail Management; DBA, S P Jain School of Global Management), began his session with the Nolan Cheddar Cheese Advertisement that highlighted the importance of changing mindset within our society, our businesses, both locally and globally. He also focused on how sentiment analysis plays a key role in contributing effectively within the digital ecosystem.

The event concluded with a Q&A Session where the audience quizzed the speakers about the latest stories from the industry experts. The alumni community interacted over dinner before signing off on the SPJ AlmaConnect Autograph Board.
