Alumni from all years were invited to come back to the Singapore campus to celebrate and visit old friends at the annual alumni meet at S P Jain School of Global Management on Friday, April 20th 2012.

Celebrating to be ‘Together Forever’, over one hundred GMBA and EMBA alumni came to the reunion event to discover S P Jain had achieved new milestones, the key ones being a name change to S P Jain School of Global Management since 2012, launch of the Global BBA tri-city program, ABEST21 accreditation, sustained Financial Times Global MBA Rankings for being among the Top 100 business schools in the world, the Sydney campus starting in third quarter of 2012 and the formal registration of the S P Jain Alumni Chapter in Singapore.

While addressing the alumni from 2006 to 2011 in the Leadership Hall, Mr. Jain said, “Although the students graduate and move on in life and their careers, the school and the alumni have an equal stake in the progress of each other. For instance, the ABEST21 is a valuable accreditation from the ministry of education in Japan and creates awareness for S P Jain among Japanese multinational organizations. The efforts to increase credibility of S P Jain education with accreditations also create opportunities for us to increase diversity in our student body as well as readily recognizing S P Jain graduates for employment.” Mr. Jain asserted that alumni must take the stake as ambassadors of the school, to continue to contributing and supporting the school by doing their personal and professional best at work and thrive. He called upon the alumni to stay connected with the school and one another over the all new S P Jain Alumni portal.

At the event the alumni met with and heard from the Former Dean of the GMBA, Dr. Mark Crosby. Bringing the alumni up-to-speed, Mr. Anil Kumar, Global Head of Corporate Relations, shared with the alumni placement success and achievements of the corporate relations team in Dubai, Singapore and India. He encouraged the alumni to reach out and support the corporate relations team should the alumni learn about the opportunities within their organization or within the context of region.

The President of the Alumni Society of S P Jain, Ms. Susan Prakasam announced the alumni chapter was now officially registered in Singapore. The goals for formal registration in Singapore was to make the S P Jain Singapore Chapter more self-reliant, self-sustaining and accountable for the support the chapter received from its alumni, its future activities and reunions.

During the dinner reception, while renewing old acquaintances with former professors and networking with senior alma maters, the students noticed changes around the campus and expressed the campus looked newer and updated since 2006 as they reminisced. The cohort from across six years shared their learning and social memories, commenting on hindsight although rigorous, how they well-prepared their professors prepared them academically and with relevant skillsets they had learnt from their S P Jain schooling experience.

The partying, networking and sharing with one another went on past midnight. S P Jain School of Global Management heartily thanks the alumni for attending the annual event towards being together forever with one another.
